Studio Visit

I give studio visits at my Alameda studio upon request.

I accept inquiries from art galleries interested in representing me, curators seeking to include me in an exhibition or evaluating artists for a public commission, and art collectors who are working with one of my galleries to acquire an artwork.

To request a studio visit, please click the button below to complete the form.

And remember before visiting—to watch "BROKEN MAGIC: the work of Arthur González" to learn more about my studio practice.

Arthur González’ powerful and deeply human sculptures reflect a subtle feeling of ‘the personal as political’. There is a wonderful sense of poetic freedom in his use of materials, and the often felt “fool’s journey” as his figures navigate this troubled earth.

— Lisa Reinertson, artist and curator, "Bay Area Clay – A Legacy of Social Consciousness," Exhibition catalog. 2017

Got questions? I’ve got you covered.

  • I wish I had time to offer private commissions. However at this time, my focus is on professional teaching of ceramics as well as making sculptures, paintings and drawings for exhibitions. To acquire a piece in a current or past show, you can inquire about available works with one of my gallerists listed above.

  • I accept inquiries for representation in the United States and internationally. You are welcome to submit an inquiry in the form above, so that we can explore representation.

  • You are welcome to visit me in person or virtually at my studio to discuss an opportunity. Please click the "BOOK A STUDIO VISIT" button above to complete the form or email me at agonzalez@cca.edu.

To discuss a purchase for your museum collection, peruse my available artwork and click on the "Inquire Now" button for a specific piece to complete your inquiry (launching soon). To commission sculpture or painting for your museum, feel free to email me at agonzalez@cca.edu.

I look forward to discussing a collaboration with you.

  • I am selective about public art projects, mostly based on available time and commission type. Please reach out to me with your project, so that we can chat about possibilities. Click the "LET’S CHAT" button above to complete the form or email me at agonzalez@cca.edu.

  • You can apply to become a ceramic art student at California College of the Arts, (formerly CCAC) in Oakland California where I am a tenured Professor of Ceramics.

When on academic breaks, I offer in person and virtual workshops through national and international university art programs, ceramic art centers and conferences, galleries and at fellow ceramic artist studios. Check out available workshops (launching soon).

I hope to meet you at one of my courses or workshops!

  • I appreciate your desire to expand your knowledge about my art practice. John Natsoulas Press has published two books that may interest you.

"Arthur Gonzalez" is a 200-page monograph that chronicles the story of my career through ten chapters that cover my work from undergraduate studies to the present.

In its third edition, "The Art of Rejection" is 96 pages of reaction drawings on rejection letters. These drawings are chronological, and as a result, it's a telling tale of how rejection is necessary for an active and successful life.

You can watch the documentary series, "BROKEN MAGIC | The Works of Arthur González" by Bay Area filmmaker Isaac Pingree of Lagoonside Pictures. To stay informed on my shows, studio happenings, musings and travels, sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Instagram.

  • I'm pleased "BROKEN MAGIC | the works of Arthur González" by Bay Area filmmaker Isaac Pingree of Lagoonside Pictures has crossed your path. The series is an accessible and inspiring look into the day-to-day work of my artistic practice. You can watch it on the documentary series page.
